Sook After arriving in Canada, I needed to find an activity that would get me out of my apartment, help me get some exercise and provide me with an opportunity to practice my English. Coming from Korea, ballroom dancing was something new to me, but I decide it was good to try something new and I started taking lessons at Shirley's Dance Studio. I was later invited to Patricia's Dance Studio that is where I met Evan. I enjoyed the warm friendly atmosphere at Patricia's so it was just a matter time before I too took my instructional training. I'm now an independent instructor at her studio. I am also an independent contractor for the City of Winnipeg's Park and Recreation Program with Evan. I have also had the opportunity to demonstrate my dancing skills with other members from the dance studio for different charitable organizations around the city. I am a member of the Manitoba Ballroom Dance Instructor's Association. My favourite dances are: Rumba, Cha-Cha, Slowfox and Salsa Evan Like most young men, my dancing career started with the bar scene, after a few drinks I was ready to dance, but the ladies weren't always ready, to dance with me. For many years I worked the evening and midnight shifts so I had to put my dancing on hold for the next 26 years. When I started working days and had my evenings free, instead of sitting on the couch and watching TV, I stated exercising at the gym because I needed to lose some weight (and I still need to lose more). One day I received an e-mail from the fitness instructor saying that they would be offering dancing lessons at the gym. The price was right so I signed up. I was the only guy in the class, talk about having a choice of partners to dance with: it was great! Well I was hooked! I started going to Mr. Roberts Dance Studio for lessons after awhile it wasn't enough, so I started going to Patricia's Dance Studio too. Then one day Patricia approached a few members of the group and asked us if we wanted to train as instructors at her studio. Well the rest is history. I am now an independent instructor at the studio as well as an independent contractor hired by The City of Winnipeg's parks and Recreation Program as a dance instructor. I have also had the opportunity to demonstrate my dancing skills with other members from the dance studio for different charitable organizations around the city. I am a member of the Manitoba Ballroom Dance Instructor's Association. My favourite daces are: Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa and Argentine Tango
